One place for everyone who came from Singhamau — and everyone who comes after.
Our grandparents carried the whole family in their heads. Who belonged to whom, which branch went where, whose daughter married into which house. They never wrote it down because they never had to — everyone lived within walking distance.
Now we are in Lucknow and Delhi, Dubai and Toronto, and the map is leaving with them. Cousins pass each other in airports without knowing. Children grow up thinking the family is the six people they meet at a wedding.
So this is where we write it down — not as a document that goes into a drawer, but as a living record the family keeps for itself, that your grandchildren will still be able to open.
Everything here is scattered right now — across ten WhatsApp groups, someone's phone gallery, and a steel almirah in Lucknow. None of that survives a generation.
Find yourself on the tree a single time and it holds. After that, anyone can open your name and see exactly how you connect to them — through whom, how many generations back, and what the two of you should be calling each other.
No more working it out on the phone with an uncle.
Where you live, what you do, and links to the Instagram or LinkedIn you already keep up. Nothing new to maintain — the family simply finds you where you already are.
And when a cousin lands in your city, they know whose door to knock on.
The photograph that turns up behind a cupboard. The letter in a hand nobody can read any more. The land paper from 1961. Photograph it, put it here, say what you know — who, when, where — and the rest of the family fills in what you couldn't.
One of those photographs is the only picture of someone's mother.
A wedding, a birth, a first job, a result that took four years. It reaches the family and it stays on the record, instead of disappearing up a group chat at midnight.
In forty years this is what your family's history will be made of.
A family is also the first network anybody ever has.
Someone in this family has already done the visa, moved to that city, sat that exam, started that business, found that specialist. Right now, using any of it depends on already knowing who to call — which means it works for the well-connected few and nobody else.
That is the quiet part this fixes. Not networking. Just knowing who your people are, and being findable by them.
परिवार ही सबसे पहला सहारा होता है। बस पता होना चाहिए कि किससे बात करनी है।
It works the way everything else on your phone works. No install, no manual, nothing to learn. Sign in, find yourself, and you are in.
You will be the generation that actually has this — a family record that goes back eleven generations and is still being written. Nobody before you had that.
Large type, Hindi throughout, and nothing that can be broken by pressing the wrong thing. You do not have to add anything you do not want to.
And if you are the person the family telephones to settle who is whose — you are the most important person on this site. Everything you carry can go in, in your own words, in Hindi. Someone will type it for you if you would rather talk.
In September 2004, in his ninety-seventh year, Thakur Arjun Singh sat down and wrote the family's story out by hand — forty-one pages, beginning at Singhamau. He asked that the generations after him should know where they came from.
The whole book is readable now: his own pages, a line-by-line transcript, the lineage, and the photographs. In Hindi and in English. No login, nothing to join.
This is not an open network. It is a family's record of itself, so every new name is checked before it goes in — and the checking is the interesting part.
Your name, and a way to reach you. That is the whole of it.
All 383 names are below, searchable. If you are already on the tree, say so. If you are not, find your father, your mother, your grandfather or your husband and place yourself under them.
One named link is all anyone needs to verify you against the record — and approving it puts you on the tree in the same motion. No forms about lineage, no document to produce.
Fill in what you know. An incomplete answer is still an answer — the tree will supply the rest.
